BreakThru Realty is adding licensed agents to its business brokerage division. You represent owners selling small and mid-sized businesses and work buyer inquiries from the brokerage's businesses-for-sale marketplace, with training in valuation, confidentiality and deal structure.

Florida generally treats selling a business for compensation as real estate brokerage activity, so a real estate license is the starting point. The Business Broker Program provides the specialist training; see its page for the curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to business buyer inquiries and qualify them financially
  • Value businesses from recast financial statements and seller's discretionary earnings
  • Market businesses confidentially with non-disclosure agreements and blind listings
  • Structure offers, including seller financing and SBA lending, and manage due diligence
  • Coordinate with the commercial side when the sale includes real estate

Qualifications

  • An active Florida real estate license
  • Comfort reading financial statements; a business or finance background helps but is not required
  • Discretion: business sales depend on confidentiality

Compensation and Arrangement

Real estate agents at BreakThru Realty are independent contractors paid by commission, not salary or hourly wage. The commission structure and any fees are given to you in writing before you join, and are discussed in the confidential conversation. There is no cost to apply.
