Jensen Beach is an unincorporated community of Martin County on the west shore of the Indian River Lagoon, across the St. Lucie River from Stuart. It began as a pineapple-farming settlement at the turn of the twentieth century, and downtown Jensen Beach still gathers restaurants and bars on the streets near the lagoon. NE Causeway Boulevard crosses the lagoon to Hutchinson Island and the beaches, Indian River Drive follows the water north toward Fort Pierce past Indian Riverside Park, and Savannas Preserve State Park stretches north from Jensen Beach toward Port St. Lucie.
