Living in Jupiter

Jupiter sits at the north end of Palm Beach County where the Loxahatchee River meets the Intracoastal and the Atlantic at the Jupiter Inlet. It is a low-rise town by design: no high-rise towers on the beach, a four-storey limit through most of it, and a lighthouse that is still the tallest thing on the horizon. Tour professionals live here for the golf, boaters for the inlet, and families for Abacoa, the schools and the beach. Jupiter Farms, fifteen minutes west, adds acreage and horses. It is the most expensive town in northern Palm Beach County, and the market is deep at the top.

Waterfront and Boating

Jupiter's water comes in three kinds. The Loxahatchee River and its canals, in Jupiter River Estates, Pennock Point and the streets off Center Street, carry docks with a short run to the inlet. The Intracoastal, in Admirals Cove, Jonathan's Landing, Jupiter Harbour and the Bluffs marina, has deep water for larger yachts. And the ocean, along A1A from the inlet to Juno Beach, holds the oceanfront condos of Ocean Trail and the Bluffs and the beach-block homes of Sea Colony. Fixed bridges on the river cap vessel height, so we verify the route to the inlet for every waterfront home.

Golf Clubs and Family Communities

Admirals Cove combines a marina, 45 holes of golf and a hotel behind one gate and sets the top of the market. Jonathan's Landing pairs three courses and a marina with fifty neighbourhoods at a wide range of prices. The Loxahatchee Club, Jupiter Country Club and Trump National are golf communities behind gates west of town, and Indian Creek offers a golf setting without a mandate. Abacoa is the family centre: a walkable town with a ballpark, a golf course and more than a dozen neighbourhoods, next to the university and the research institutes. Jupiter Farms is where buyers go for an acre and a barn.

Neighborhoods

Waterfront: Admirals Cove, Jonathan's Landing, Jupiter Harbour, Jupiter River Estates, Pennock Point, The Bluffs, Ocean Trail and Sea Colony. Golf and gated: Jupiter Country Club, The Loxahatchee Club and Maplewood. Family and attainable: Abacoa, Indian Creek, Botanica and Chasewood. Acreage and horses: Jupiter Farms. Each has its own page with live listings.

Selling a Home in Jupiter

A Jupiter home is priced by its water, its club and its distance from the beach, and in the Farms by its acreage and outbuildings. Start with a free valuation built on recent BeachesMLS sales in your neighbourhood, request a cash offer for a fast as-is sale, or ask for a full comparative market analysis and a marketing plan before you list.

Investing in Jupiter

Investors buy in Jupiter for the seasonal rental demand near the beach and the inlet, for the year-round tenants from the research institutes, the university and the hospital around Abacoa, and for the scarcity of waterfront lots that keeps values firm. Association and club rental rules vary and matter here, so we check them first. We track price reductions, new listings and days on market daily.

Jupiter Real Estate FAQ

How much does a home cost in Jupiter?
Jupiter is the priciest town in northern Palm Beach County. Condos in Chasewood, Botanica and the older buildings along Indiantown Road start well below the median, single-family homes in Abacoa, Indian Creek and Maplewood sit in the middle of the market, the golf communities and Jupiter Farms run from the high six figures to several million, and Admirals Cove, Pennock Point and the Intracoastal estates reach eight figures. The market table on this page shows current medians for single-family homes and condos.
Which Jupiter neighborhoods have docks and ocean access?
Admirals Cove, Jonathan's Landing and Jupiter Harbour sit on the Intracoastal with deep-water slips and no fixed bridges to the inlet. Jupiter River Estates, Pennock Point and the canal streets off the Loxahatchee River have docks with a short run to the inlet, though some routes pass under fixed bridges that cap vessel height. We verify the route, water depth and dock length for every waterfront home we show, and the no-fixed-bridge page on this site lists the current inventory with a clear run.
Is Jupiter a good place to buy a condo?
Yes, and the choice is wider than the low-rise skyline suggests: oceanfront buildings such as Ocean Trail and the Ocean at the Bluffs, Intracoastal buildings in Jupiter Harbour and the Marina at the Bluffs, and attainable communities such as Chasewood, Botanica and the condos inside Jonathan's Landing and Abacoa. We compare monthly fees, reserves, milestone inspections and rental rules for any building before you offer.
What is my Jupiter home worth?
Request a free valuation and we will build it from recent closed sales in your neighbourhood, adjusted for water access, club terms, distance from the beach, acreage, condition and upgrades. For a listing decision we prepare a full comparative market analysis, and homeowners who need a fast sale can request a cash offer.
How does Jupiter compare with Palm Beach Gardens and Tequesta?
Jupiter has the beach, the inlet, the river and the highest prices of the three. Palm Beach Gardens, to the south, is the golf and gated suburb with PGA National, the Gardens Mall and the newest construction, without beach frontage of its own. Tequesta, across the river to the north, is a small village of waterfront homes and golf communities at prices similar to Jupiter. We cover all three and can compare specific homes side by side.
