Rentals with a dock and ocean access in Miami are mostly houses on Biscayne Bay in the Upper East Side, on Belle Meade Island, in Morningside and along the canals of Shorecrest, plus a few homes on the Miami River, a working river of boatyards and marinas. Boats reach the Atlantic through Government Cut or Haulover Inlet, so the fixed bridges on the route and the depth at low tide decide what you can keep at the dock. Ask the owner in writing whether the dock is part of the lease, the length and draft it takes, and who pays the electricity on the pier. A Miami dock permit belongs to the property, not the tenant, so check that the dock is permitted before you rely on it.
