The Intracoastal Waterway takes two forms in Miami-Dade County. North of Haulover Inlet it is a channel between the Sunny Isles Beach barrier island and the mainland at Aventura and North Miami Beach, lined with condominium towers on both sides: Parque Towers and Fairview House on the Sunny Isles Beach bay side, Point East by Maule Lake and the gated towers of Williams Island and Porto Vita in Aventura. South of the inlet it widens into Biscayne Bay, where the frontage belongs to the Brickell and Edgewater towers, West Avenue and Belle Isle in Miami Beach, and the houses of North Bay Road. Nearly everything here is an apartment. Compare units within one stack before comparing buildings, and ask how the association funds its seawall and any docks.
