Modelo was the first name of the settlement that became Dania, and the Town of Modelo plat and Modelo Park still cover streets close to downtown, such as SW 3rd Place, SW 3rd Terrace, NW 8th Avenue and NE 1st Avenue. Houses date from the forties to the seventies with a few newer, some on double lots, and a fourplex or two stands among them. There is usually no association. Old plats bring old plumbing, wiring and drainage, so ask for the sewer lateral, the electrical panel, the roof and the permit history, and confirm the zoning if you plan to add a unit or rebuild.
