Renting in Lantana

Renters in Lantana choose between the water and the town streets. Furnished condominiums at The Moorings at Lantana lease for the season or month to month with the marina and the Intracoastal outside, and Intracoastal houses on Lake Drive and on Hypoluxo Island lease furnished, several with a private dock and a pool. On the downtown and western streets, Greynolds Highlands and Lantana Heights among them, houses with no association lease by the year to families, often with a fenced yard or a pool. Owners of the island houses sometimes offer a home either by the year or for the season, so ask about both terms when you first inquire.

Houses, Condos and Apartments

Rentals in Lantana range from studio apartments to furnished estate homes. The market table on this page splits the median rent between houses and townhomes on one side and condos and apartments on the other, because the two markets price very differently, and the pages below narrow the search by home type, monthly rent, furnishing, pets and lease length.

How Renting With BreakThru Works

Tell us your budget, move-in date and must-haves, and a licensed rental agent builds a shortlist, schedules tours and helps you apply with a complete file. In most South Florida rentals the landlord pays the agent commission, so our help costs a renter nothing.

Own a Home in Lantana?

A Lantana landlord first chooses the tenant. A furnished winter lease suits a condominium at The Moorings or a house on the water, while an annual lease suits a pool house on a street with no association, where only the town code applies. At The Moorings and the other condominiums the association sets the terms: the minimum lease, the approval, pets and parking. We price your home from live Lantana rents and the leases that closed nearby, and we screen every tenant before a showing. Request a Rental Analysis to compare an annual and a seasonal lease for your home.

Renting in Lantana: What to Know Before You Apply

Where renters live

Renters in Lantana look in three places. By the water, The Moorings at Lantana leases furnished condominiums around its marina at the north end of the town, and Intracoastal houses on Lake Drive and in Lantana Point lease furnished, some with a dock. Across the bridge, houses on Hypoluxo Island lease for the season or by the year at the top of the market. On the town streets, houses in Greynolds Highlands, Lantana Heights and the other plats lease by the year, often with a pool and a fenced yard. A few rentals with a Lantana address sit outside the town line in unincorporated Palm Beach County.

Annual or seasonal

Lantana has a winter rental market by the water and a year round one on the town streets. Furnished condominiums at The Moorings and houses on the Intracoastal lease for the season, roughly December to April, or month to month, and owners book them well ahead. Houses with no association on the downtown and western streets lease by the year, many of them unfurnished, and turn over in late spring and summer. Some island owners offer either a long annual lease or a six month furnished term, so ask for both prices before you choose a Lantana rental.

What to have ready

A Lantana rental application moves faster with the file ready before the showing: photo identification, proof of income or assets, landlord references and consent to credit and background checks, plus the association's own application and fee for a condominium. Name every occupant, pet and vehicle, because parking is assigned at The Moorings, and say whether a boat is coming if the home has a dock. Winter owners often live elsewhere and choose quickly between competing tenants, so a complete packet sent with the offer saves days on a Lantana lease.

Association approval

Association approval applies to most condominium and townhouse rentals in Lantana. At The Moorings at Lantana and the other buildings, the association runs its own application with its own fee, may limit how often a unit is leased and sets the minimum term, and the move in date follows its decision, which can take longer in summer when boards are away. Houses on the town streets usually have no association, so the owner's approval is the only one. In the communities for residents 55 and over outside the town line, the age rule applies to tenants as well as owners in Lantana.

Deposits and move-in costs

Move in costs on a Lantana rental run above the first month's rent. An annual lease usually asks for first and last month and a security deposit; a furnished seasonal lease often asks for much of the season in advance and a deposit sized to the furnishings, and a lease of six months or less can also carry the state and county taxes on short rentals. Condominium associations add an application fee and sometimes a deposit of their own. Florida law sets how a deposit is held and returned, and the lease should say who pays the electricity, water, internet and pool service in a Lantana home.

Lantana Rentals FAQ

How much is rent in Lantana?
The median asking rent in Lantana is $2,500 a month across 61 active rentals in BeachesMLS. Houses and townhomes ask a median $2,800 and condos and apartments $2,350. Leases signed in the last 90 days closed at a median $3,000 for houses and townhomes and $1,800 for condos and apartments. These figures update daily on this page.
Do I pay a fee to rent a home in Lantana through BreakThru Realty?
In most South Florida rentals the landlord pays the agent commission, so working with a BreakThru rental agent costs a renter nothing. If a specific listing works differently, we tell you before you tour it.
What do I need to apply for a rental in Lantana?
Most landlords ask for a government-issued photo ID, recent pay stubs or an offer letter showing income of roughly three times the monthly rent, recent bank statements, a credit report and rental references. Having these ready before you tour lets you apply the same day.
How long does rental approval take in Lantana?
Landlord approval usually takes one to three business days. If the home is in a condo or HOA community, which is common in Lantana, the association runs its own application and approval, and that can take two to four weeks in many buildings. We start the association paperwork the moment you are accepted.
Can I rent a pet-friendly home in Lantana?
Yes. The pet-friendly page lists every current Lantana rental whose listing says pets are allowed. Most still set limits, such as breed or size restrictions, a maximum number of pets and a pet fee or deposit, and condo associations often add rules of their own, so we confirm the policy for your pet before you apply.
Are there seasonal rentals in Lantana?
Yes. Furnished homes and condos in Lantana are let by the month or the season, with the strongest demand from January through April. Seasonal rents run higher than annual leases and the best winter rentals book months ahead, so start early; the seasonal and furnished pages show what is available now.
